Karen's Personal Testimony
As
I reflect on the things the Lord has carried me through, I stand
in awe. I was very ill. Unable to do much of anything, but God
reached down.
The days were long as I looked out my windows, wishing I could do more. My strength was gone, my
breath short, my hope diminishing. The doctors had told me I would
only get worse. My husband was looking into relocating us to a
different part of the country, hoping the new environment would
help. I didn't want to go and leave my home, my family. But if we
didn't go, I would only get worse to the point of being totally
handicapped by the environment around me. I had developed a high
sensitivity to the environment, which had caused me to have COPD, and I only had 33% lung capacity.
Each day was a challenge as I would go through the procedures to do
simple everyday things. To get out of bed took an emergency
inhalant, then to sit for a few minutes to gain strength to climb into
the shower. By the time I was finished with my shower, I wished I
could go back to bed from the exhaustion, but the day must go on, and
there was my family to care for.
After everyone was gone, I
would collapse on the couch and sleep for a time to regain
strength.
My prayers were "Father, please heal me so
I can serve you". But there didn't seem to be any change. Then
an evangelist came to our church. People
were telling me I should go because so many amazing things were
happening.
The
meetings were late, and I didn't want to go, but God told me to go. I
argued, "I was too weak at the end of the day, what if someone
is wearing perfume, I would have to leave", I argued until I
realized that it didn't make any difference. He was going to win
because He wasn’t
going to
let me sleep anyway. I made an agreement with God that if He gave
me strength, I would go every night.
God did His part. I
would be so weak, but when it was time to leave for the meetings, a
burst of energy would come. So I did my part and went. Something
began to happen. I fell in love with My Jesus. My prayer changed.
Instead of healing me, oh Lord, so I can serve you, it became
I will serve you even if it is only praying every day from my
couch.
On February 22, 1998, while at the meeting, the
evangelist called everyone up who had any respiratory problems, among
other things. The Lord told me to go up. It took every bit of energy
I had left to walk to the front of the church. I waited for the
evangelist to go down the line and pray for each of us. Instead, he
said something like, " Be healed and sent us to our seats. I
was so disappointed and
angry
I wanted to cry, but I had done what I knew the Lord said to do, so I
slowly walked back to my seat and sat down to catch my breath.
The
next morning I woke up,
jumped out of bed, and went to the shower. After the shower, I went to
start breakfast, then stopped. What was I doing! As
the day progressed, I got many things accomplished. By noon, I still
had a lot of energy and hadn’t needed any medications. I
had gotten so busy doing various things that I hadn't realized the
energy I seemed to have and that I wasn't needing my medicines. I
have never taken any since. The Lord completely healed me. Before, it would have been a death sentence to go into a perfume store. To
test my healing, I had my daughter take me to a mall to a perfume
store. I walked in and opened a bottle of perfume and burst into
tears. God had truly healed me.
Today, I make Frankincense and Myrrh anointing oil along with other types of
anointing oil and Frankincense Incense along with other types of
Incense. My house smells of the various oils and incense. But
that is another amazing story….
